Baptisms for Ericka and Grandma, Rain Storms, and Preparation for the 4th of July - 06/29/2015

Hey everyone sorry for the late email. Today has been kinda weird. Today is not a pday because of the 4th of July. But we do get a couple of hours so that we can email. We have been running around so this is the only time that I have been able to email.

This week has been great. Yesterday was the baptism of Ericka and Grandma! It was so awesome! They were so happy and everything went according to plan except nobody had cleaned the baptismal font so the water had a greenish tone to it, but anyway that does not matter. The point that matters is that they are taking the first step to returning back to their Heavenly Father. Here is a picture:

The weather was also crazy this week. It rained almost every day and it was a down pore so it flooded some roads:

Honey Harvesting, Crazy French Ladies, Postponed Baptisms, and an Awesome Fireside with Navy's Head Football Coach - 06/22/2015

Hey Everyone!

It has been a good week in the mission field. Things are going well. We did a lot of service this week. we were able to help a member harvest some honey from his bee hives, which was really really fun. We also got to do lots of yard work for a crazy French lady which was not as fun, but she did make really good food so it made it worth it.

So the baptism did not happen this week because of a few logistical things. But it will be happening this next week. We have set up everything and it should run smoothly. We are all really excited for it. It should be a great meeting, full of the Spirit.

Other awesome news is that we were able to go to an event at the visitor center last night. The guest speaker was the head Navy football coach, the guy from Meet the Mormon's. He is an awesome speaker! He shared lots of experiences where he has seen the hand of the Lord in is life. Surprisingly he shared lots lots of experiences about receiving spiritual guidance in his coaching career. He shared this really cool story about when Navy was playing Army which is usually the biggest game of the year for them. It was near the end of the first half, Army had the ball, it was 4th and one and Army was going for it. The head coach had a feeling to call a time out, so he did. To everyone, it did not make sense. The head coach did not know why he had the feeling. When teams lined up on field after the time out, Army fumbled the ball and Navy was able to pick it up and take the ball all the way down for a touch down. They ended up winning the game. Coach Ken told us the he feels that he has heavenly help because that is how he provides for his family. He told us it is not about winning, but keeping his job. It was an awesome fireside.

Thanks for all the emails everyone!

Hope everyone has a great week!

Baptism Plans for Next Sunday, Self-Taught Investigators, and Attack of the Baby Frogs - 06/15/2015

Hellooo Everyone,

It is once again everyone's least favorite day (besides mission mom's, missionaries, and missionary admirers.) MONDAY!! So hopefully I can make this email some what entertaining and worth some of your valuable time.

This week has been great! We have been continuing to work with our investigators. It has been awesome to see the growth that has been taking place. Erica and her mom have been doing awesome! They are planning on being baptized on Sunday.

Stephen is one of easiest people to teach. He learns everything before we talk to him about it. Each time we go to his house we give him a pamphlet of the next lesson and ask him to read them before we see him next time and he does. He reads everything we give him and he accepts it. He prays about it and he feels that it is true. I have never had an investigator that teaches him self.

Other than that, nothing too crazy has happened. Yesterday we were checking on some people. As we were walking down the street, I noticed a bunch of little blurs moving. When I looked down, those blurs turned out to be hundreds of baby frogs just hopping down the street. Pretty crazy, I have a video of it and i will try to send it out in another email.

Thanks for everything everyone! I will be sure to tell you some funny story's next week but i just do not have time today. Have a great week byeee.

3 Baptisms on the Schedule, Working With Members in Finding Efforts, and the Air & Space Museum - 06/08/2015

Hey Everyone!

It's that time of the week which I am sure all of you have been waiting for..... My weekly email yay! This past week was so awesome!

Currently we have 3 working towards baptism in the up coming weeks.
Erica and now her mom are preparing for baptism on 21st (we had to push it back a week for stake conference) and they guy who came to church last week is preparing for baptism on the 28th hoohaa! So many miracles have been happening to us and it just goes to show that the Lord is hastening his work. We are just blessed to be a part of it.

Last week and this week, we have been focusing on building member relations with the ward. I guess the last couple of missionary's didn't really interact with the ward that much and I have found that, working with members is the way to go. We could go trackting 7 hours of every day and not get anywhere, or you can build relationships with members, and have them assist you in your finding efforts. The second way works a thousand times better.

Today has been pretty fun, Elder Reynolds and I met up with some other missionary's and went down to the city. We visited the air and space museum. It was pretty cool. There was tons of people there now that it is the start of the Summer. My favorite parts were probably the model of the aircraft carrier, the Wright brother's plain, and the World War II fighters

Thanks for the emails everyone! Take care and have fun this week🌞🌞🌞

Lab Puppy Attack, The Gospel Preparing Investigators, and Loving Those You Teach - 06/01/2015

Hey dad I am so sorry about this late response and I just realized that the email that I sent to you never sent so I want to go and send it again, but I accidentally deleted it, so I and starting off fresh.
Sounds like you have a crazy week ahead of you I hope that it goes well and nobody gets arrested because mom would not be too happy about that. Thanks for sending me another great email I always enjoy the things you have to say. They are always inspiring and they always remind me of how awesome my family is (oh my gosh while I was writing this I just got attacked by a lab puppy).

This week has been great! Erica and her family have been doing awesome. It is so amazing how much change she has gone through from the first time I have met her until now. I can see the gospel working in her life and changing who she is. She is so prepared by the Lord to be baptized. She has gone through so much in such a short amount of time that has gotten her to where she is now.  It is definitely something that I will remember for the rest of my life. I have learned so much this transfer regarding to what the gospel can do for us and how we can be truly changed because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ.

I have also been learning a lot about charity. I felt that to become a better missionary I needed to feel love towards all the people I was teaching. So I started praying for the gift of charity and I have started to feel and see the changes in myself. It has been an amazing process and looking back now, I can see there is no other way to do missionary work besides through love, because it is love that made the Savior suffer for all of us. It was through love that God gave up his only begotten son so that we can all return to live with him. I think we can all learn something from that.

Thanks for everything dad, I sure love you and the rest of the family. Please tell Corbin and Zach that I love them both and also tell them to treat mom well ha ha. Take care and have a great week!

Love,

Tyler
